Halloween
Halloween is celebrated on October 31st every year. Today, it is more of a fun day for children and has largely lost its religious roots. Halloween has many symbols. In particular, orange pumpkins and fires and black witches, cats and costumes are common of this day.Trick-or-treating is one of the biggest Halloween activities. Children knock on doors and ask for a small gift. If they don´t get anything, they'll play a trick on the peson who opens the door.

The Day of the Valencian Community is a local public holiday in Valencia. It celebrates Valencian culture and history. It marks the anniversary of King James of Aragon's capture of the city of Valencia from Moorish forces in 1238. After more than five centuries of Islamic rule, James I of Aragon created the kingdom of Valencia. Today the Valencian Community is an autonomous community divided into three provinces: Alicante, Castellón and Valencia.

welcome back to school
I hope you had a great summer with your family and friends but now summer is about to finish. Days are getting shorter. Weather is slowly beginning to change. And school is back again.
I hope you are full of energy to start the new school year 2012-2013.
Today I just want to say hello to all of you and say welcome back.
I wish all of you have a really good time while learning English during this new school year.

June 22nd is the last day of school and then summer holidays begin. HAPPY SUMMER TO YOU!!!
May is the fifth month of the year. The month May was named for Maia, the goddess of spring and growth to the ancient Greeks and Romans. No other month begins or ends on the same day of the week as May in any year.
EVENTS IN MAY
1 May Day. The first of May is celebrated around the world. It has a number of meanings. In many countries it is a celebration of spring and the coming of summer. In some other countries it is Labor Day, a celebration for the workers.
The International Red Cross is a politically neutral and non-religious international organisation with approximately 97 million volunteers, which helps people around the world without any discrimination based on nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions. CELEBRATING EARTH DAY
Every year, on April 22, we celebrate Earth Day. Our world is getting dirty and many of our plants and animals are dying. Earth Day is a special day to look at our planet and see what we can do to protect the environment. People should learn about the importance of the three Rs: reuse, reduce and recycle. A better planet could be possible if everybody does this every day. Watch this video to learn more.

100 years ago, on April 10, 1912, the Titanic set sail on its maiden voyage. A few days later, on April 15, it hit an iceberg and sank. More than 1,500 people lost their lives in the disaster.
